The Theme of the Book The Ocean happens to be the last frontier of mankind. The future of mankind depends very much on the oceans, its resources, exploitation and the technologies of its exploitation. The Book "Oceanography A Brief Introduction" describes the geophysical, climatic and biological phenomena of the oceans. It stresses the importance of the oceans for mankind and its future. Organisation of the Book The book is divided into five parts—the first part deals with the Basic Concepts, the second part deals with the Geophysical part of the Oceans including global tectonics, the third part deals with the Chemical Properties, the fourth with the Biological Part and the fifth with Resource Part and usefulness for the mankind.
